PTFE stands for PolyTetraFluoroEthylene, it is a fluorocarbon-based polymer. The Telfon brand of PTFE is manufactured only by Dupont.

Skived sheet is ideal as a slide surface, for chute liners, other kinds of liners, or for cutting or stamping into gaskets (asbestos substitute) and diaphragms, including complex stamped gasket configurations.

Skived Sheets are available from 0.1mm to 3.5mm Thickness. They are available from 300mm Width to 1500mm Width or long - length. The material may be ordered etched for bonding on one or both sides for an additional charge (both Sodium Ammonia and Sodium Naphthalene etching are offered). Material may be ordered in long lengths as individual sheets.

PTFE Rods are available from 3mm diameter upto all the regular standard dimensions. RAM extruded PTFE rods are also available in all standard fills: glass fiber (5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25%), carbon, bronze and in different colors for fabricated product identification and safety.

PTFE and PTFE Bush are manufactured in a wide range of sizes. Many combinations of sizes of OD and ID are available. Moulded cylinders are preferred for machining because compression moulding yields greater material homogeneity for the finished part.

Most cylinders are moulded to 100 millimeters in length, although other lengths are still available. All cylinders can be etched for bonding.

All cylinders can be made with filled (reinforced) PTFE to enhance the performance parameters of PTFE. Materials available for reinforcement are Glass Fiber, Carbon, Graphite, Bronze, Molybdenum Disulfide, and Stainless Steel.
